The 20 Best TV Seasons of the Last 20 Years

Over the past six months, Pajiba has been reviewing their "20 Best (TV) Seasons of the Last 20 Years" one at a time.

Their work is complete, and with shows like Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, South Park, The Simpsons and Friday Night Lights on the list, I find it difficult to disagree with their choices.

Thanks, Amazon Recommendations!

Got this in my e-mail today from Amazon:

We've noticed that customers who have purchased or rated Mercenaries or other games in the PlayStation 2 > Adventure category have also purchased Disney Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour. For this reason, you might like to know that Disney Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour will be released on August 12, 2008. You can pre-order yours by following the link below.
So because I purchased Mercenaries - a game in which you wreak heavily-armed havoc and rain total destruction down upon North Korea - I might enjoy Disney Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour.

The 50 Greatest Comedy Sketches of All Time

While I think #2 should have been #1, and while I loathe Monty Python (mainly because people who loooove Monty Python irritate me to the brink of violence), it's a good list...

One down, 19 to go

io9, a pretty cool new sci-fi blog, just posted "The Twenty Science Fiction Novels that Will Change Your Life".

The only one I have read:

I, Robot (1955), by Isaac Asimov
This collection of linked short stories quite simply changed the way we think about robots. Asimov invented the "three laws of robotics," which are included in so many subsequent tales of humanoid robots and also in the work of robotics engineers. So this book has already changed your life, by changing robot history -- reading it, you'll be surprised how much this work of fiction has become accepted wisdom about the way real robots will function.
Unless Will Smith is willing to make 19 more offensively unfaithful movie adaptations, I guess I have some reading to do.

Best Week Ever's The 10 Funniest Anti-Drug Commercials In Advertising History

This year’s Super Bowl didn’t disappoint with its annual roomful-of-laughter-inducing anti-drug PSA, featuring a carelessly outspoken drug dealer warning parents that their kids can get drugs from annnnyyyywwhere. So in the grand tradition of legends like this dude and the teenager who got pregnant last Super Bowl because she was high, here’s a list of the ten anti-drug commercials we just couldn’t help but laugh at (more than usual): [Link]

I thought this was interesting.

A Cal Tech student decided to do an experiment where he gathered data from facebook, taking people's favorite books and comparing them to the college they attended and that college's SAT average of its students. Then he made a nifty graph illustrating the correlation between the books people read and how "smart" they are.

Amusing to me: People who listed "The Holy Bible" as one of their favorite books are "dumber" than people who listed "The Bible".

Important Culinary News: Dunkin' Donuts Coffee Now Available in L.A. Stores

Anyone who has ever set foot east of the Mississippi (and even a few points west) knows that Dunkin' Donuts' coffee is only, like, the best coffee ever. Every so often, I will even order their coffee grounds or beans (via their website).

But NO MORE! As of last month, Dunks has been offering their coffee at retail stores. I have personally had sightings of DD coffee at both Target and Ralph's in the Los Angeles area. Look for it next time you're shopping. You won't be disappointed. If you don't believe me, you can even request a free sample!
